Hi, I’m Mark. My wife and I own Salem Boys Auto. I am also very proud to be an ASE Certified Master Tech, along with 6 other guys in our shop. Of the 7 Masters, four (including me) have their L-1 rating which is an advanced engine performance certification.
I began my career as a policeman for the City of Scottsdale and left there after seven years to open my own repair shop. My background includes 2 years each with GM, Ford and Chrysler as an arbitrator and/or technical advisor. I was on the board for the BBB, I am a court appointed special advocate (CASA) for one young man and I host a few weekly radio shows about car repair and appear regularly on TV about car repair related issues. I was the original "NASCAR Consumer Crew Chief" for three years.

RANAE SALEM --- Also known as "Snow White". This is my wife since 1974, my best friend, my business partner, my confidant and my conscience. Since 1979, Ranae has handled the business side of all of the businesses we own. Recently, I decided that I simply had too much to do and needed help. We had my daughter Andi replace Ranae and now Ranae helps me. If you ever call and need any information about me, our radio shows, the shop or anything at all, Ranae or Andi will know the answer.

In his spare time he and Alan go to the dunes and that is where he specializes in beating Alan on his quad!
Dale has tremendous auto repair skills and he has initiative. He works without supervision and he is a self starter. He is one of the Best Employees we have ever had. He can build, fix or repair ANYTHING.

JEFF is our parts manager and
works hand in hand . . . maybe I better say side by side with Andy in parts. He has been
in the car business for 18 years. He has been part of the Salem Boys team since June 1999.
He is married with two girls, Nataliee and Jeneva!
You can always find Jeff telling or playing practical jokes. He knows the parts business
inside and out. He is into wood working and spending time with his daughters and wife! And
he is a huge Iowa Hawkeye Fan . . . GO HAWKS!!! |
COLEEN and three of her five brothers
have worked for us over the last 18 years. Col began as a cashier at our service station
way back in the early 80's. She left us, went to college, graduated, took and passed her
CPA exam the first time, worked for a few larger CPA firms, then decided to jump in
a slower lane. Col is now our accountant and our CPA. Honest and
dependable hardly describe what we think of Col, she is absolutely the greatest.

ALAN "Big Al" Salem is my only Son and oldest child. He is General Manager of Salem Performance Division or
SPD which sells and installs accessories, power chips and exhaust for
anything that has an engine and two to six wheels.
He has been working for Salem Boys since he was
a kid. He got married in May of 2004 to his wife Heather. They have three beautiful children, Mark, Rex, and a girl named Lexi. We are all very thankful for Heather because she keeps Alan in line.
There is nothing in the accessory arena that Alan cannot get, cannot install and cannot find for you. |
ALISON, also known as Ali, is my oldest daughter and one of the Salem Girls. She graduated high school where she took auto mechanics every year. Ali is a graduate of ASU and has a degree in communication and/or marketing.
Ali works as hard as anyone I've ever seen, if she isn't just buried with work, she isn't happy.
She is the spittin’ image of her mom but has the "take no prisoners" attitude of her dad.
She is the Mom of my Best Buddy, Xander (Alexander). Nothing has impacted my recent life more than this little man who follows his Papa around and does what I do and that SURE keeps me from cussin' and drinkin'.

ANDI is the youngest of my two
daughters. She is General Manager of Salem Boys Auto. She handles all the books for
the carwash, the car rental company, the consulting company and the performance division.
AND she helps me!
She graduated from Valley Christian
High School in 2001. After high school she went on to graduate from Phoenix Therapeutic
Massage College. She now coaches volleyball at East Valley Juniors along with working at
Salem Boys.
If she is not working she likes to lay out by the pool,
work around her house, shopping or playing with her nephews. The guys around the shop say
she is sweet as can be . . . until you get her mad. She must get that "mean
gene" from her mother. Andis hair color is different every week so this picture
is at least 10 colors ago. |

EDDIE "Fast Eddie" is the
best Ford performance techs I have ever seen or met and has been with us since March

Eddie has recently been promoted to Service
Manager and Shop Foreman. He is an ASE
Certified Master Technician with an L-1 advanced engine performance certification. Eddie
graduated from U.T.I. in 1986 with an AA in Auto & Diesel Technology.
While Eddie loves Fords, he is very capable of fixing any
kind of car under the sun. I use him when I need a cool head on a difficult car and he never lets me
down.

ADAM is an ASU grad with a degree in Marketing. He has been working at Salem Boys since June 2001. He is SINGLE and looking for a girl! Fellow employee’s think he needs to enter his truck in a demolition derby since he is notorious for running into things. He is one of the guys who has turned into someone very special and we value his work ethic.
He works with Alan as an installer of accessories. He and his crew are doing work, wiring, fabrication and stuff I could never do at his age. He is a quiet guy and has a great sense of humor. |

NANCY joined the Salem Boys team as a Service Advisor in May 2009 and has worked in the automotive industry for over 25 years. She is an ASE certified service advisor and has been trained in service management. The real beginning of Nancy's automotive experience was when she was hanging out at the air base as a kid watching all the guys work on the jets. She moved to Arizona 12 years ago and says Arizona fits her perfectly because she loves the outdoors and doesn’t have to scrape the windshield or shovel the sidewalks!
