Whenever you discuss fuel and ignition parts, you may hear from others that nothing is better than OE or original equipment parts sold by your local dealer. That is simply not true. You see almost every part on your car was made by an independent vendor. The hoses weren’t made by Ford, the tires weren’t made by GM, the injectors weren’t made by Nissan, the starter wasn’t made by Toyota, the radiator wasn’t made by Mazda. Although many car makers do REBUILD or REMANUFACTURE different parts, few actually make their own new ones. Besides, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had a listener tell me that even though they had just had their oxygen sensor replaced with one from the "aftermarket", their problem wouldn’t be solved until an OE sensor was installed. Because their aftermarket oxygen sensor wasn’t as good as an OE (original equipment) one. You can guess the rest, almost always, the problem was still there and the OE sensor did nothing to cure the customers problem.
